I’m a big admirer of the New York Cosmos soccer documentary, Once In A Lifetime. It’s the strange tale of how a soccer team commanded the attention of New York City in the late 1970’s. In the era of disco, Gay Pride, CBGB’s and the sexual revolution, the New York Cosmos were packing Giants Stadium for a sport barely understood in America. Andy Warhol’s Interview magazine sent Sharon Hammond to investigate and Christopher Makos to take some photos inside the locker room.
